Technical Description of Project Activity

The key process description

*Incinerator
NG fuel is fed with air to the oxidation chamber, where it oxidizers to carbon dioxide CO2 and water vapor H2O. HFC-23 is fed simultaneously to the chamber and is oxidized to CO2 and HF. Steams, as an additional source of hydrogen, is fed to the furnace to ensure complete conversion of halogens to hydrogen halides.

*Cooling System(Quencher)
The combustion gas is then fed to the quencher where it is rapidly cooled down with HF solution to close to 85°C. In this operation the major part of HF is dissolved in the quenching solution and then the combustion gas goes out to the absorber.

*Absorption Tower
The exhaust gas from the quencher is washed by HF solution and demineralized water in the absorber to remove HF gases. The flue gas passing through the absorber is neutralized by KOH in the scrubber before being discharged to the atmosphere to meet the required air quality standard.
